FELICIAN'S SCHMITT, YOUNG MAKE NABC HONORS COURT

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College men's basketball student-athletes Jimmy Schmitt (Elmwood Park, NJ/Elmwood Park) and Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) are members of the 2010-11 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, the NABC recently announced.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excel in the classroom. Qualifiers must be a junior or senior who have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2 at an NCAA or NAIA institution and have spent at least one year at their current institution.

Schmitt, a junior guard, transferred from Bergen Community College, and earned a 3.98 GPA in his first year at Felician. Majoring in mathematics education, Schmitt appeared in 24 games, starting 11, for the Golden Falcons and averaged 2.2 points per game.

Young, a senior forward, graduated with a 3.70 GPA as an accounting major. He is among the most decorated athletes in Felician history. The 2010-11 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, he was also a Capital One Second-Team Academic All-American and a Daktronics Second-Team All-Region performer as a senior. He is Felician's all-time leading scorer with 1,958 points.

Wilmington University had five players named to the list.

Matt King (St. Pius X HS/Phoenixville, PA) – Business Management

Ed Freeman (Friendship Collegiate Academy/Washington, DC) – Business Management

Corye Payton (Burlington Township HS/Burlington, NJ) – Business Management

Goldey-Beacom College also had two recipients in juniors Ido Yehuda and Phillip Brooks
