NEW HAVEN, CT - Williams Eason of Concordia College has been chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 7. Fellow Clipper Areglix Gil was named Rookie of the Week.
Eason, a 6-7 junior forward from Springfield, MA, averaged 24.0
points, 17.0 rebounds, 2.5
blocks and 1.5 steals per-game in a 1-1 week for the Clippers. He
made good on 48.6-percent (18-for-37) of his shots from the
field and shot 75.0-percent (12-for-16) from the charity
stripe. He recorded career-high totals of 27 points and
21 rebounds in a win against Nyack, out-rebounding the Warriors by
himself (21-20). The 21 boards tie a CACC Division II-era
single-game record. He also notched 21 points, 13 rebounds, two
blocks and two steals against Bloomfield.
Eason currently leads the East Region (Northeast-10 Conference, East Coast Conference and CACC) in rebounding with 11.9 per-contest.
Gil, a 6-5 freshman guard who hails from Brooklyn, NY, posted two double-doubles last week and averaged 16.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per-game. In a win over Nyack, he registered 19 points, 13 rebounds and four assists while shooting 8-for-15 from the field. He shot 60.9-percent (14-for-23) from the field for the week. Earlier in the week, Gil tallied 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting, 10 rebounds and three assists in a loss to Bloomfield.

Gage Daye, Bloomfield (Jr., G, 6-2, Newark, NJ) - Averaged 26.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists per-game in a 2-0 week.
Kyle White, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., G, 5-10, Georgetown, DE) - Posted 27.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds per-game in a 1-1 week.
Justin Swidowski, Holy Family (So., F, 6-9, Cinnaminson, NJ) - Recorded averages of 28.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per-game in a 0-3 week.
Larz Jeter, Chestnut Hill (Gr., F, 6-4, Philadelphia, PA) - In a 2-0 week, averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per-game.
Antoine Obery, Felician (So., G, 6-4, Roselle, NJ) - Shot 10-12 from the field and finished with 23 points and four rebounds in a win over Caldwell.
Matt Morgan, Nyack (Fr., G, 6-1, White Plains, NY) - Tossed in 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per-game in a 1-1 week.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - The Deacons improved to 16-4 overall and 10-1 in the CACC with a pair of wins last week. Junior guard Gage Daye paced the offense, averaging 26.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists per-game, while averaging 3.0 steals. Senior guard Elias Brantley continued his outstanding play at point guard, averaging 14.0 points per-contest for the week. The Deacons' home winning streak now stands at 20 dating back to the 2007-08 season.
Caldwell - The Cougars went 0-3 last week, losing to Dominican, Felician and Philadelphia to extend their losing streak to five. Sophomore guard Malcolm Austin scored a career-high 30 points against Dominican on Tuesday, becoming the 12th men's basketball player at Caldwell since the 1989-90 season to score 30 points in a game. Sophomore center Peter Diffley grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds to go with 15 points at Felician on Thursday. The Cougars play Division I Rutgers University in a regular-season game on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Piscataway, N.J.
Chestnut Hill - Larz Jeter averaged 18.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, two blocks and a steal this week to lead the Griffins in a big week. The Griffins moved into third place in the CACC South standings with wins over Goldey-Beacom College and Holy Family University. Jeter scored 21 points, grabbed four rebounds, and made two assists against the Lightning to lead the Griffins to an 82-70 win over the South Division leaders.
Concordia - Concordia's Kenny Gaskins scored his 1,000th career point with the last shot of the game against Bloomfield on Tuesday. Will Eason put himself atop the CACC single-game rebounding record list with 21 in the win over Nyack on Thursday. Eason out-rebounded the entire Nyack team, 21-20, while boasting a career high 27 points. The Clippers face off at Post University and Wilmington University this week as they look ahead after moving up another spot in the North Division standings.
Dominican - Junior center Almin Hodzik notched a season-high 16 rebounds in a loss to Bloomfield last week. He has recorded eight double-doubles this season, is averaging 1.5 blocks per-game and shooting 56.3-percent from the floor.
Felician - Felician swept the season series from Caldwell for the first time in five years. With 15 victories, the Golden Falcons are assured of an above-.500 season - they will enjoy back-to-back winning years for the first time in program history. Senior C Ethan Kennedy (First Team) and junior F/G Devon Young (Second Team) were voted onto the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District squads.
Goldey-Beacom - Senior guard Kyle White has scored in double-figures in all 20 of GBC's games this year. With performances of 24 and 31 points in GBC's two games last week, he has now scored 20 or more in 15 games this season and 30 or more in two. His 31 points against USP was a career-high. White has now scored 899 points in just his second season with GBC. Junior forward Terrence Parkes has scored in double-figures in all 20 Lightning games this season. He also posted a double-double against USP this week with 13 points and 13 rebounds. He has 10 double-doubles this season.
Holy Family - Holy Family (1-20, 1-10 CACC) dropped all three of its contests last week. The Tigers took on seventh-ranked Kutztown (60-78) and CACC opponents Chestnut Hill (83-87) and Bloomfield (74-91). Forward Justin Swidowski led the team in all three games (26, 32 and 26). His 32 points against Chestnut Hill was a game-high. Guard Khiry Hankins had 20-plus point efforts against Chestnut Hill (23 points) and Bloomfield (21 points). Swidowski is the CACC leader in blocks (2.52 per game). He is also second in scoring (24.7 per game) and rebounding (9.7 per game), third in field goal percentage (.601) and fourth in free throw percentage (.818). This week, the Tigers host Philadelphia and Post.
Nyack - Andrew Williams, a 6-6 senior forward from St. Louis, MO, joined his twin brother Aundrae in the 1,000 point club. Andrew accomplished this milestone at two schools (Graceland University and Nyack) but has played four years for Coach Ted Quinn. He scored 9 points in the OT win over Post and landed exactly on 1,000 and is approaching 600 career rebounds. The Warriors face a tough week with a home battle Thursday versus Bloomfield followed by a road contest Saturday at Goldey-Beacom.
Philadelphia - The Rams have won eight straight games and will face three CACC battles this week.
Post - This week the Eagles prepare for a three game week after Saturday's game against Goldey Beacom was postponed due to weather. That game will now be played at the Drubner Center on Thursday February 11th. The Eagles host Concordia Tuesday night and travel to Holy Family on Saturday afternoon.
USP - Will Kernan (Medford, N.J.) equaled his career high of 21 points vs. Goldey Beacom. Curtis Fitch (North Grosvenordale, Conn.) moved into sole possession on 9th place on the Devils all-time blocked shot list with 74 for his career, with one blocked shot this week. Adewale Adefemi (Chesilhurst, N.J.) pulled down 13 rebounds this week to move into 24th place on the Devils all-time list with 525. Adefemi is ranked 51st nationally in rebounding, pulling down 8.6 per game. USP is ranked second in the CACC in scoring defense (63.3 points/game) and ranked 25th nationally. The Devils also rank 55th nationally in field goal percentage defense (40.7%) and 10th in fewest personal fouls per game (14.5).
