COOK CLAIMS MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF WEEK HONORS AFTER 30-POINT OUTBURST

NEW HAVEN, CT - Ryan Cook of Chestnut Hill College has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 29. Fellow Griffin Mark DiRugeris Jr., was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Cook, a 6-2 sophomore guard from Laurel, NJ, led the Griffins to a win over Dowling College with 30 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. He shot 11-for-18 from the field and 7-for-10 from long range. He added one steal on the night with only one turnover while playing all 40 minutes.

DiRugeris Jr., a 6-1 freshman guard from Woodbury, NJ, recorded 10 points, four assists, two rebounds and one blocked shot in a victory over Dowling.

Honorable Mention

Russell Frederick, Philadelphia (Sr., G, 6-1, Baltimore, MD) - Averaged 21 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per-game in a 2-0 week.

Devon Young, Felician (Jr., F, 6-3, Monmouth Junction, NJ) - Posted 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a win over Molloy.

Justin Swidowski, Holy Family (So., F, 6-9, Cinnaminson, NJ) - Poured in 27 points and added five rebounds against Indiana (PA).

Gage Daye, Bloomfield (Jr., G, 6-2, Newark, NJ) - Tallied 22 points, six rebounds and three steals in a road victory over Dowling.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - The Deacons improved to 3-2 on the season on November 24, with an 81-67 victory over Dowling College. Junior guard Gage Daye paced the offense with 22 points and six rebounds. Senior Wilson Pilarte poured in 19 points, while senior Chris Sampson notched 12 points and a game-high 19 rebounds.

Felician - Felician posted its highest point total in two years in a 91-78 win over Molloy in Saturday's home opener. The victory extended the best start in school history to 4-0, and extended the Golden Falcons home winning streak to eight.

Holy Family - Holy Family (0-4) lost its only game last week, 80-74 to Indiana (Pa.) University. Forward Justin Swidowski paced the Tigers with 27 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Guard Kahlil Mumford contributed 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Holy Family is off until Tuesday, December 8, with a road contest against Wilmington University.

Philadelphia - The Rams have won five straight after dropping their first two games of the season at the Disney Tip-Off Classic. Seniors Malcolm Ingram and Russell Frederick are both averaging over 18.0 ppg this season and classmate Mike Yocum is chipping in 9.9 ppg. This week the team looks ahead to Lock Haven (11/30) at 7:00 pm and West Chester at home on Wednesday (12/2) at 8:00 p.m.
