NEW HAVEN, CT - Kyle White of Goldey-Beacom College and Russell Frederick of Philadelphia University have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Players of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 20. Post University's Larry Grant was chosen Rookie of the Week.
White, a 5-10 senior guard from Georgetown, DE, tallied 28 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a road victory at Millersville on Monday. He shot 9-for-17 from the field and added a pair of steals in 40 minutes of action. White was also tabbed CACC Player of the Week on December 7.
Frederick, a 6-1 senior guard from Baltimore, MD, led the Rams
to a home victory over The
College of Saint Rose with 29 points, seven rebounds and three
steals. He shot 7-for-15 from the field, 4-for-8 from long range
and 11-for-14 from the free-throw line.
Grant, a 6-2 freshman guard from White Plains, NY, helped lead Post to a victory over #21 Stonehill with 22 points, three rebounds and two steals. He shot 6-for-9 from the field, 2-for-3 from long range and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Honorable Mention
Areglix Gil, Concordia (Fr., F, 6-5, Brooklyn, NY) - Registered 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 52.2-percent from the field in two games.
Jamell Cromartie, Dominican (Jr., G, 6-0, White Plains, NY) -Averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per-game in two contests.
CACC Notes
Caldwell - The Cougars lost both games at the ECAC Holiday Classic, falling to Adelphi, 71-40 on Saturday and losing to East Stroudsburg, 73-60 on Sunday. This is the fourth year Caldwell College has hosted the ECAC Holiday Classic.
Nyack - At the semester break, the Warriors have four players averaging double figures in scoring and another two at eight points a contest. They are led in scoring by 6th man Jose Lopez with his 16.8 ppg on 48% shooting from beyond the arc. The Warriors should see the return of James Oyamo (14.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg) soon who has been sidelined the last four games with a knee injury. Nyack is off for Christmas Break and returns to action in the Adelphi Classic December 29-30. The squad will match up with New Haven on day one and the host Adelphi on day two. The Warriors return to conference play January 7th when they host Concordia.
Philadelphia - The Rams won their single game of the week and first in 10 days with a 70-61 non-conference win over NE-10 rival Saint Rose. Seniors Russell Frederick (29pts/7 rbds) and Malcolm Ingram (21 pts/12 rbds) led the Rams.
Post - Post University defeated #21 Stonehill on the road last
week. The three top scorers for the Eagles were freshmen Larry
Grant, Trevon Hamlet, and Nyheem Sanders, accounting for 76.5% of
the minutes played in the game. Of the nine players who saw time
for Post, five were freshmen, three were sophomores, and only one
was a senior. Grant scored his game-high 22 points in 28 minutes of
action.
