GOLDEY-BEACOM'S PARKES NAMED CACC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Terrence Parkes of Goldey-Beacom College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 13. Dominican College's Leon Porter was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Parkes, a 6-6 junior forward from New Rochelle, NY, posted averages of 19.0 points and 12.7 rebounds per-game in a 3-0 week for the Lightning. He registered 26 points and 17 rebounds in a win at Chestnut Hill and shot 11-for-17 from the field. He added 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a win at Philadelphia.

Porter, a 5-6 freshman guard from Laurel, MD, helped lead the Chargers to two CACC wins last week with averages of 17.0 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per-game. He tallied 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a road win at Post and contributed 18 points and seven helpers versus Concordia.

Honorable Mention

Malcolm Ingram, Philadelphia (Sr., F, 6-4, Philadelphia, PA) - Averaged 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per-game in a 1-1 week for the Rams.

Jose Lopez, Nyack (Sr., G, 5-9, Medford, NY) -Averaged 21.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 56-percent from the field in a 1-1 week.

Antoine Obery, Felician (So., G, 6-4, Roselle, NJ) - In a 2-2 week, averaged 15.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per-game.

Justin Swidowski, Holy Family (So., F, 6-9, Cinnaminson, NJ) - In four games, averaged 19.5 points and 8.25 rebounds while shooting 64-percent from field.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - The Deacons pushed their winning streak to five games by going 3-0 on the week, while starting off the CACC season 2-0 with a 94-81 victory over Caldwell and a 72-69 win over Concordia. Junior guard Gage Daye paced the offense by averaging 18.6 points and 3.0 assists per-contest. Other notable performances include a 19-point effort against Caldwell by Mat Wafula and a 17-point outing by sophomore Robert Young against Saint Anselm.

Caldwell - The Cougars host the ECAC Holiday Classic this Saturday and Sunday in the George R. Newman Center. Caldwell plays Adelphi on Saturday before facing East Stroudsburg on Sunday, with both games scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. The men's and women's teams from Dominican and the women's team from Le Moyne also are participating.

Felician - Antoine Obery's 19 rebounds vs. Post on Thursday tied for the third-most in program history, and are the highest total by a Felician guard.

Goldey-Beacom - Junior guard/forward Sam McDuffie became the school's fifth all-time leading scorer, surpassing the 600-point mark for his career. He now has 605 points in his career.

Holy Family - Holy Family played four games in six days last week, falling to Wilmington (67-82), Goldey-Beacom (61-67), California (Pa.) (L, 56-93) and American International (78-97). Forward Justin Swidowski led the team with double-doubles against Wilmington (26 points, 10 rebounds) and Goldey-Beacom (23 points, 11 rebounds). Forward Rickie Crews recorded his first two career double-doubles against Goldey-Beacom (13 points, 10 rebounds) and California (15 points, 12 rebounds). Guard Kahlil Mumford tied his career-high with 26 points against American International. This week, Holy Family hosts #8 Kutztown on Saturday, December 19 at 3 p.m.

Nyack - The Warriors have won three out of their last four games and stand at 5-5 overall and 1-0 in CACC play heading into final exams and Christmas Break. The Warriors return to the court December 29-30 in the Adelphi Classic. They will play New Haven and Adelphi.

Philadelphia - The Rams took Wilmington at home in a 63-49 win, their final game before a 10-day hiatus for final exams. The squad next plays on Sunday (12/20) vs. The College of Saint Rose at 4 p.m. in the Gallagher Athletic Center.
