NYACK, NY -- J.J. Jumper, the official mascot of the NCAA, is to appear at the Nyack College men's and women's basketball games on Saturday, February 9. The women's game will start at 4:00pm and the men will tip at 6:00pm. J.J. Jumper will perform throughout the games as part of the NCAA's commitment to promote youth basketball participation and sportsmanship.

J.J. Jumper's purpose is to increase enthusiasm and awareness of NCAA Basketball, while engaging and educating youth on healthy physical, emotional and educational values. J.J. Jumper is an attention-getting 6'5" green creature with orange hair, size 26 shoes and a big heart that motivates youth to do their best on and off the court. J.J. appears at men's and women's basketball games, giving away NCAA Basketball promotional items and performing skits during timeouts and halftime.

"We are pleased to support the NCAA Basketball's official mascot and program, J.J. Jumper, because of the program's encouragement and support of youth participation in athletics," said Keith Davie, athletics director at Nyack College. "As a member of the NCAA, Nyack sees the true value this program brings to the community. The program illustrates the importance of sportsmanship, youth participation and other positive values, which are vital facets in intercollegiate athletics."

The 2007-08 season is the program's eighth full season. During the past three years, J.J. Jumper has made more that 275 visits at member institutions, appearing at over 600 men's and women's basketball games in all three divisions. J.J. also performs at conference tournaments and the NCAA men's and women's Final Four.

Tickets will be available on the day of the games at the Bowman Center on the campus of Nyack College. For more information, contact the Nyack College Athletic Department at (845) 675-4776. Information will also be available on the web at www.nyack.edu.
