STURNS TABBED DAKTRONICS MEN'S BASKETBALL THIRD TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

NEW HAVEN, CT-Holy Family University senior guard Michael Sturns was tabbed for the Daktronics Men's Basketball Division II All-American third team on Tuesday.

Sturns is the first Daktronics All-American in program history. He was also selected to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region and National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Northeast Region first team. Furthermore, Sturns was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year. He will take part in the NCAA/NABC Division II All-Star game on Friday, March 28 as a part of the Elite Eight in Springfield, Mass.

This season, Sturns leads Division II in scoring with 26.6 points per game. He added 6.7 rebounds per game, 94 assists and 70 steals. Sturns holds the school record for points in a season (824) and points in a game (51). He is fifth on the Holy Family single-season steals list.

Holy Family finished the season at 21-10, reached the CACC championship game and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
