TWO CACC BASKETBALL GAMES TO BE FEATURED BY NCAA AND CSTV

February 5, 2008

NEW HAVEN, CT ? The men's basketball contest between Philadelphia University and Holy Family University on Saturday, February 9th, has been chosen as NCAA Productions' Division II Game of the Week and will be aired live nationally on College Sports Television (CSTV). The game will tip-off at noon. Furthermore, the women's game between Holy Family and Dominican College will be broadcast live on the internet on Saturday, February 16, at 1:00 pm. That game will be available to view at http://www.NCAAsports.com/dii.

The Holy Family and Philadelphia men's game is the first CACC regular-season basketball contest to be chosen as the NCAA Division II Game of the Week. The event will be hosted by the Rams at the Gallagher Center starting at noon. It will be the second meeting this season between the cross-town rivals, as Philadelphia took the first encounter by a score of 52-47 back on December 3.

CSTV will televise the game-locally in Philadelphia on Comcast Ch. 274, DirecTV Ch. 610 and Dish Network Ch. 152--and it will be simulcast on their broadband network as well. Justin Kutcher will handle the play-by-play chores while Vince Curran, a former All-City and All-Catholic basketball player from St. Joseph's Prep who went on to play collegiately at Penn, will provide color commentary.

Philadelphia is currently ranked eighth in the Northeast Region, while the Tigers are right behind them in the ninth spot. The two squads are also first and second in the CACC South Division standings. Philadelphia is first with a perfect 9-0 record in conference play, while Holy Family is 7-3.

The women's contest on the 16th between Holy Family and Dominican will be played at Dominican's Hennessy Center starting at 1:00 pm. It is one of four Division II games available to view on the NCAA website that day.

Holy Family is the top-ranked team in the Northeast Region and is currently 19-0 overall and 10-0 in conference action. The Tigers are ranked eighth according to the latest USA Today/ESPN National Poll. Dominican is 16-4 overall this season and leads the CACC's North Division with a 10-1 record. The Chargers are ranked seventh in the region.

This is the second year of the Division II/CSTV regular-season and broadband package. In addition to the six regular-season basketball games and national semifinals, the package includes four regular-season football games and several Division II championship finals in men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse, softball, and baseball.

NCAA Division II Vice President Mike Racy praised the partnership with CSTV because it provides the division with a national platform to help tell the story about Division II member institutions and conferences. "There are many positive initiatives in Division II right now, all centered on our division's strategic-positioning platform," Racy said. "The broadcasts with CSTV are the perfect stage to shine the light on Division II attributes and success stories."
