NEW HAVEN, CT - AJ Reitter of Post University has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 10. Gage Daye of Bloomfield College claimed Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Reitter, a 6-5 junior forward from Baltimore, MD, led Post to two key North Division victories over Caldwell and Dominican by averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per-game. He shot 8-for-19 (.421) from 3-point range for the week. He recorded 25 points and five rebounds in a win over Dominican and added 18 points, five rebounds and two blocks against Caldwell. Reitter has collected Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Daye, a 6-2 freshman forward from Newark, NJ, averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per-game in two contests last week. He poured in 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in a win over Felician and added 18 points, seven assists and four rebounds in a loss to Caldwell.

Honorable Mention

Malcolm Ingram, Philadelphia (So., F, 6-4, Philadelphia, PA) - Averaged 16.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per-game in a 2-1 week.

Michael Sturns, Holy Family (Sr., G, 6-5, Fort Worth, TX) - Averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game in a 1-1 week.

Derek Savage, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., G/F, 6-2, Lincoln, DE) - Posted averages of 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per-game in two contests.

Will Carty, Dominican (Jr., G, 6-1, Bronx, NY) - Averaged 16.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per-game while shooting 52.4-percent from the field for the week.

Manny Perez, Caldwell (Jr., F, 6-7, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) - Averaged 20.7 points per-game in a 2-1 week.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - Cougars have won five of their last six games after picking up CACC North victories at Bloomfield and Nyack last week. Junior forward Manny Perez led the way against Bloomfield with 24 points in a 79-74 win, while senior forward B.J. Suchy tallied 22 points and seven boards in Caldwell's 75-68 triumph at Nyack. Perez, who also notched 25 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Post on Tuesday, has moved into sixth place on Caldwell's all-time scoring list with 1,253 career points. He passed former Cougar standout Ryan Tremblay, who recorded 1,241 points from 1995-99 for the Scarlet, White and Gold.

Chestnut Hill - Sophomore Larz Jeter changed games with his defense this week, as he averaged 3.0 steals per-game and 1.0 blks/game. He opened the week with eight points and eight rebounds against Goldey-Beacom, then totaled six steals and two blocks while scoring eight points and collecting five rebounds in a close battle with Wilmington. Trenton Davidheiser scored 15 points, collected seven rebounds, made five assists, a block, and two steals against Wilmington. In his freshman year, Davidheiser is leading the Griffins in FG% (.436) and rebounding (6.7) and he is third in scoring with an average of 10.4 ppg.

Felician - In Felician's Feb. 4 loss to West Chester, senior G/F Jason Romer made his 100th career three-point field goal, becoming the sixth Golden Falcon to accomplish that feat. He has since moved up to fourth on the school's all-time list despite playing just two seasons with Felician. During Saturday's loss to Bloomfield, senior guard Derrell Thomas joined Bilal Rodgers as the only players in program history to reach 100 assists in two different seasons.

Philadelphia - Despite falling to Adelphi University on February 5th to end a season-high six-game winning streak, the Rams have still won eight of their past nine contests. Junior guard Mike Dunn, who poured in a team-high 20 points in Philadelphia's win over Holy Family University on February 9th, needs just 16 points to become the 46th player in school history to record 1,000 career points.

USP - With USP's win over Wilmington on Saturday, the Devils have completed season sweeps against both of their CACC South rivals from Delaware (Wilmington and Goldey Beacom) - the first time they have accomplished this since the 2003-04 season. The Devils now hold an 11-1 record against the Wildcats dating back to the 02-03 season. In the most recent NCAA statistics report, the Devils are ranked 55th nationally in scoring defense (66.2), 66th as a team in field goal percentage defense (42.3%), 12th in rebound margin (7.5), and 26th in fewest personal fouls committed (15.8). Adewale Adefemi is ranked 78th nationally in rebounding (7.9/game).
