KNOX PICKS UP CACC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Omari Knox of Bloomfield College has picked up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 18. Goldey-Beacom guard/forward Samuel McDuffie was the choice for Rookie of the Week.

Knox, a 6-2 junior guard from Brooklyn, NY, led Bloomfield to a 2-0 week with averages of 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per-game. Knox opened the season with 28 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in a 77-68 victory at NYIT. He followed with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 99-83 win against Queens.

McDuffie, a 6-5 freshman guard/forward from Bordentown, NJ, posted averages of 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game in a 2-0 week for the Lightning. He started his collegiate career with a 21-point, 9-rebound effort in a 77-72 win over Bloomsburg.

Honorable Mention

Michael Sturns, Holy Family (Sr., G, 6-5, Fort Worth, TX) - Averaged 29.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per-game in a 1-1 week.

Derek Savage, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., F, 6-4, Lincoln, DE) - Averaged 16 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Lightning.

Jason Romer, Felician (Sr., G, 6-3, New York, NY) - Registered 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game in a 1-1 week.

CACC Notes

Felician: Senior guard Jason Romer was named to the all-tournament team of the Davis & Elkins Tip-Off Classic. His late three-pointer helped seal Saturday night's opening victory over Mercyhurst, and he scored a career-high 23 points in Felician's championship-game loss to the host Senators. He also averaged 6.5 rebounds from his shooting guard position.

Holy Family - Holy Family went 1-1 at the Bulldogs Classic at Bowie State to open the season. Holy Family won its season opener on Friday (11/16) against East Stroudsburg, 89-82. University of North Texas transfer guard Michael Sturns led the Tigers with 29 points. Guard Ryan Lancaster was right behind with 28 points. Guard Ceazer Johnson added 16 points off the bench. The Tigers fell to Bowie State the in championship game on Saturday (11/17), 90-79. Sturns led the way again with a career-high 30 points and seven rebounds. Lancaster scored 20 points. Guard Quincy Marshall added 10 points. Sturns and Lancaster were both named to the All-Tournament Team. The Tigers have a pair of home games this week. Holy Family plays Virginia State University on Tuesday and C.W. Post on Saturday.

Philadelphia - The Rams play one more game before the Thanksgiving Holiday, on Tuesday, November 20th at Millersville University. They play their home opener at the Gallagher Center on Thursday, November 29th against another Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division foe, West Chester University.
