PHILADELPHIA'S INGRAM CLAIMS MEN'S HOOPS WEEKLY HONOR

NEW HAVEN, CT - Philadelphia University sophomore Malcolm Ingram has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, January 20. Samuel McDuffie of Goldey-Beacom College picked up Rookie of the Week accolades for the second time this season.
Ingram, a 6-4 sophomore forward from Philadelphia, PA, registered 26 points in both of his outings last week, in wins against Chestnut Hill and Dominican. He also averaged 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 70.4-percent (19-for-27) from the field and 93.3-percent (14-for-15) from the charity stripe. He recorded 26 points on 10-13 shooting, 12 rebounds and three assists against Chestnut Hill. He followed with 26 points on 9-for-14 shooting and 11 rebounds at Dominican. This is the first CACC Weekly Award for Ingram.
McDuffie, a 6-5 freshman guard/forward from Bordentown, NJ, helped lead the Lightning to a 3-0 week with averages of 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per-game. He also shot 46-percent (15-for-33) from the field. He recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds against Felician and added 16 points and six rebounds versus Holy Family. McDuffie has been named CACC Rookie of the Week twice this season.

Derek Savage, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., F/G, 6-4, Lincoln, DE) - In a 3-0 week, averaged 17.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per-game.
Michael Sturns, Holy Family (Sr., G, 6-5, Fort Worth, TX) - Averaged 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per-game in a 2-1 week.
Jason Romer, Felician (Sr., G/F, 6-3, New York, NY) - Averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per-game in a 1-1 week.
Manny Perez, Caldwell (Jr., F, 6-7, Egg Harbor, NJ) - Posted averages of 18.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 52.4-percent from the field.
CACC Notes
Caldwell - After totaling 36 points in two games last week, junior forward Manny Perez now has 1,204 career points to rank seventh on Caldwell's all-time scoring list. He passed former Cougar standout Ed Elam, who tallied 1,197 points while wearing the Scarlet, White and Gold from 1992-96.
Felician - In its two games last week, Felician made 23 of 46 three-point attempts, including a season-high .565 percentage (13-23) in Saturday's overtime loss at Goldey-Beacom. The Golden Falcons have made at least 10 threes in seven out of 16 games this season, including four of their last five. On the season, Felician has 133 treys out of 448 field goals (29.7 percent). Senior swingman Jason Romer (43-95, .453) and senior guard Derrell Thomas (17-41) are both over .400 from long range with enough makes to qualify for the league leaders. Six-foot-6 freshman F/C Kashiff Foster went 6 for 10 on the week after making three three-pointers in his first 13 games.
Goldey-Beacom - The Lightning have won three consecutive games after going 3-0 last week with wins over Bridgeport, Holy Family and Felician. Head Coach Chuck Hammond won his 50th career game on Saturday against Felician at home.
Holy Family - Holy Family went 2-1 last week and is now 10-7 overall and 4-3 in the CACC. Guard Michael Sturns led the way with 26 points in a 73-51 win over Wilmington last Tuesday. The Tigers suffered an 81-74 setback at Goldey-Beacom and Sturns poured in 30 points. On Saturday, Sturns led four players in double figures with 18 points in a 66-55 victory over Caldwell. In the latest NCAA stats report, Sturns is Division II's top scorer. Forward London Houston is fifth in rebounding, seventh in steals and 20th in rebounding. Guard Quincy Marshall is 19th in assist/turnover ratio. Holy Family will host USP on Wednesday and visit Felician on Saturday.
Philadelphia - The Rams' current three-game win streak is their second of that length this year, the previous coming in a stretch from November 29, 2007 ? December 3, 2007 against West Chester, Wilmington and Holy Family. Philadelphia plays just once in the upcoming week, on Saturday January 26, at Post.
USP - In the most recent NCAA statistics report, the Devils are ranked 25th nationally in scoring defense (62.8) ; 67th as a team in field goal percentage defense (41.8%), 20th in rebound margin (7.4), and 23rd in fewest personal fouls committed (15.7). Freshman Adewale Adefemi is ranked 78th nationally in rebounding (8.0/game).
