FREDERICK NAMED CACC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Fresh off an MVP performance at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Tournament, Philadelphia University point guard Russell Frederick has been named the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 9.

Frederick, a sophomore from Joppa, MD, led Philadelphia to its first CACC Tournament Championship by averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per-game while playing every minute of the tournament. He shot 54.8-percent from the field in the three games and committed only seven total turnovers. For his efforts, he was named the MVP of the tournament.

Honorable Mention

Michael Sturns, Holy Family (Sr., G, 6-5, Fort Worth, TX) - Averaged 24.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per-game in the CACC Tournament.

Omari Knox, Bloomfield (Jr., G, 6-2, Brooklyn, NY) - Registered 30 points and four rebounds in a CACC semifinal loss to Philadelphia.

Manny Perez, Caldwell (Jr., F, 6-7, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) - Tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in a CACC semifinal loss to Holy Family.
