Post forced the overtime periods by forging a huge second half comeback. With Bloomfield leading 59-42 with 9:13 left in the second half, McAlister gave the Eagles some life with a three-pointer, which sparked a 21-4 run to tie the game at 63 with 2:59 left. The rest of regulation went back and forth before an Arthur Robertson lay-up with 11 seconds left gave Post a 67-65 lead. However, Knox was fouled and made a pair of free throws to send it into overtime. Post took a four-point lead in overtime before Daye converted four free-throws down the stretch to force a second overtime, setting up Sheppard's winning bucket.
Sophomore point guard Russell Frederick led Philadelphia over USP (13-15) with a game-high 20 points and five assists. The Rams jumped all over the Devils and led 19-5 with just over 11:00 left in the first half. However, the Devils stormed back, going on a 15-0 run to trim the lead to 27-24 before Frederick connected on one of his four three-point field goals to snap the Rams' drought. Savage paced the Lightning with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Maxwell recorded 17 points and five assists and forward Steven Cooper scored 11 points.
Caldwell (12-16) got hot in the second half in its triumph over Dominican, shooting 72.2-percent from the field in the final 20 minutes of play. The Cougars closed out the first half with a 14-3 run that included 3-pointers by sophomore guard Eddie Crockett and junior guard Carl Augustin. The Cougars led 34-25 at the break.
The Cougars stayed hot in the second half, jumping out to a 46-30 advantage with a 10-5 spree, buoyed by five points apiece from Crockett and senior forward B.J. Suchy.
