STURNS AND INGRAM NAMED TO NABC ALL-NORTHEAST REGION MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

March 20, 2008

NEW HAVEN, CT-Michael Sturns of Holy Family University and Malcolm Ingram of Philadelphia University have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Northeast Region Men's Basketball Team. The team was voted upon by member coaches of the NABC. A total of 88 players from eight districts earned All-Region accolades. Sturns, a 6-5 senior guard, was a first team pick, while Ingram, a 6-4 sophomore forward, was a second team selection.

Sturns, who hails from Fort Worth, TX, has already earned numerous postseason honors this season. He was named the Player of the Year in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and was voted to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region first team.

Sturns is leading Division II in scoring with 26.6 points per-game to go with 6.7 rebounds per-game, 94 assists and 70 steals. He holds the school record for most points in a season (824) and most points in a single game (51). He scored his 1,000th career point on January 5.

A Philadelphia native, Ingram led Philadelphia in scoring this season with a career-high 17.0 ppg while his 8.4 rpg also topped the team. A first-year starter for the Rams, Ingram also shot a team-best 49.8-percent from the field and registered a team-high 13 double-doubles. For his efforts, Ingram was a first team All-CACC selection and a Daktronics second team All-Northeast Region pick. Ingram helped lead Philadelphia to a 73-67 double-overtime win over Holy Family in the CACC Tournament Championship game.
