2006-07 CACC Men's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

November 20

Player of the Week: Christian Burns, Philadelphia (Sr., 6-9, C, Hamilton, NJ) - Averaged 22.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per-game while shooting 55.2-percent from the field in a 2-0 week. Also blocked 3.5 shots and came up with 1.5 steals per-game. Started the season with 24 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks against Bryant and followed with 21 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks and three steals against Chestnut Hill.

Rookie of the Week: James Harper, Felician (Fr., 6-5, F, Eatontown, NJ) - Shot 81.3-percent from the field and averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per-game for the week. Shot 13-for-16 from the field during the week, including a 6-for-6 performance against Minnesota-Duluth. Began the season with 20 points and four rebounds against nationally-ranked Minnesota State.

November 27

Player of the Week: Raheem Scott, Holy Family (Sr., 6-2, G, Philadelphia, PA) - Was named MVP of the R.L. Vaughan Classic at Elizabeth City State University. Averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists in leading the Tigers to a 2-0 record. Recorded 13 points and 15 rebounds (10 offensive) against Kentucky State after an 18-point outing against Claflin.

Rookie of the Week: Blake Rubenstein, Wilmington (Fr., 5-10, G, Ambler, PA) - Scored 21 points in a 90-84 loss to Kutztown. Shot 7-for-13 from the field, including 6-for-8 accuracy from beyond the arc, and added four assists and one rebound.

December 4

Player of the Week: B.J. Suchy, Caldwell (Jr., 6-6, F, Ronkonkoma, NY) - Made game-winning shot at buzzer in victory over Bloomfield. Was named to Commerce Bank Cougar Classic All-Tournament team. Averaged 18.7 points and 7.0 rebounds, shot 61.8 percent from the floor and made 5-of-7 three-pointers in the Cougars' 3-0 week.

Rookie of the Week: Omari Knox, Bloomfield (So., 6-2, G, Brooklyn, NY) - Averaged 19.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Deacons. Had 17 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Dowling and scored 26 points in a victory over Mercy.

December 11

Player of the Week: Christian Burns, Philadelphia (Sr., 6-9, C, Hamilton, NJ) - Shot 75.6 percent (34-for-45) from the floor and averaged 26.7 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in the Rams' 3-0 week, all against conference opponents. He poured in 38 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks and shot 16-for-20 in Thursday's road victory over Bloomfield.

Rookie of the Week: Steven Cooper, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., 6-6, F, Newark, DE) - Averaged 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in helping the Lightning to a 2-1 week. Shot 60 percent from the floor (14-43). Had 13 points and nine boards in a win over Bloomfield.

December 18

Player of the Week: Michael Pierrot, Felician (Sr., 6-10, 260, Melville, NY) - Poured in 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in an 89-76 victory over Molloy. Shot 14-for-21 (.667) from the field and blocked one shot.

Rookie of the Week: Sam Cricelli, Caldwell (Fr., 6-7, F, Brighton, England) - Registered 19 points, six rebounds and two steals in an 83-76 conference win over Wilmington. Shot 9-for-14 (.643) from the field.

January 2

Player of the Week: Christian Burns, Philadelphia (Sr., 6-9, C, Hamilton, NJ) - Averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per-game while shooting 53.3-percent from the field in three games over the holiday. Tallied 23 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in a win over Southern New Hampshire and added 20 points, 11 boards, two blocks and two steals in a win over AIC.

Rookie of the Week: Sam Cricelli, Caldwell (Fr., 6-7, F, Brighton, England) - Averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 steals in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. Tallied 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting and four rebounds in a win over Franklin Pierce.

January 8

Player of the Week: Christian Burns, Philadelphia (Sr., 6-9, C, Hamilton, NJ) - Posted averages of 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists and shot 63.3 percent from the field last week. Poured in 29 points, along with 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in a victory over Goldey-Beacom.

Rookie of the Week: Omari Knox, Bloomfield (So., G, Brooklyn, NY) -Averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per-game in two games last week. He tallied 19 points (6-for-12 shooting from the field), four rebound, four assists and one steal against Mercy.

January 16

Player of the Week: Andre Dabney, Bloomfield (Sr., G, 5-10, Plainfield, NJ) - Recorded a milestone by notching his 2,000th career-point against Holy Family. He reached the milestone during a 35-point outburst against the Tigers. For the week, he averaged 31.5 points, 8.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game while shooting 45.8-percent (11-of-24) from long range. He also registered 28 points, seven assists and five rebounds against Felician.

Rookie of the Week: Antonio Sherrod, Wilmington (So., F, 6-5, Glen Burnie, MD) - Averaged a double-double for the week with 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per-game. He tallied 18 points and eight rebounds at Nyack and added nine points and 16 boards versus Post.

January 22

Player of the Week: AJ Reitter, Post (So., F, 6-5, Baltimore, MD) -Scored the game-winning basket against Holy Family on Saturday and assisted on the game-winning bucket versus Bloomfield on Tuesday. Averaged 20.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 blocks per-game in a 3-0 week. Tallied 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four blocks versus Bloomfield and added 19 points and five rebounds against Holy Family.

Rookie of the Week: Chris Sampson, Bloomfield (Fr., F, 6-6, Philadelphia, PA) - Averaged a double-double for the week with 11.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per-game. Also blocked 1.5 shots per-game. Tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds against Wilmington and added nine points and 11 boards at Post.

January 29

Player of the Week: Arthur Robertson, Post (Jr., G/F, 6-1, Rockaway, NY) - Led Post to its second consecutive 3-0 week with averages of 18.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per-game. Converted 66.8-percent (22-of-32) of his field-goal attempts. Tallied 22 points and eight rebounds (8-of-12 FG) in a victory over Philadelphia. Added 20 points and 12 boards against Dominican.

Rookie of the Week: Sam Cricelli, Caldwell (Fr., F, 6-7, Brighton, England) - Averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per-game in a 2-0 week. Shot 66.7-percent (18-of-27) from the field and registered 22 points and 12 rebounds against Bloomfield on 10-for-12 shooting.

February 5

Player of the Week: Sheanan Martinez, Jr., G, 6-0, Haverstraw, NY) - Notched a triple-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists in a win over Bloomfield. Followed with a 31-point, 10-rebound, six-assist effort in a victory over Goldey-Beacom. For the week, he averaged 26.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists per-game while shooting 75.8-percent (22-of-29) from the field.

Rookie of the Week: James Harper, Felician (Fr., G/F, 6-4, Eatontown, NJ) - Averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per-game in a 2-0 week. Registered 18 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over Post and added 15 points, nine rebounds and four steals versus Caldwell.

February 12

Player of the Week: Michael Pierrot, Felician (Sr., C, 6-10, Melville, NY) - Averaged 25.3 points, 14.3 rebounds and 5.3 blocks per-game in a 2-1 week for the Golden Falcons. Registered a double-double in all three contests and shot 56.6-percent (30-of-53) from the field. Tallied 31 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks at Wilmington, 26 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocks versus Goldey-Beacom and 19 points and 14 rebounds at Holy Family.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Adrian Miles, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., G, 6-0, Washington, D.C.) and Omari Knox, Bloomfield (So., G, 6-2, Brooklyn, NY) -Miles averaged 21.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals in a 2-1 week. He poured in 33 points and added 10 rebounds at Felician and had 22 points and five rebounds versus Philadelphia.

Knox averaged 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per-game in a 1-1 week. He posted 22 points against both Philadelphia and USP and pulled down 13 rebounds against the Devils.

February 19

Player of the Week: Prince Jackson, Dominican (Sr., F, 6-6, Schenectady, NY) - Shot 57-percent from the floor and made 7-of-11 three-point attempts in a 1-1 week for the Chargers. He averaged 26.0 points and 6.0 rebounds for the week and poured in 29 points in a loss to regionally-ranked Holy Family.

Rookie of the Week: Allen Dean, Bloomfield (Fr., F, 6-7, Neptune, NJ) - Recorded 20 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks in a win over Wilmington. Averaged 16.0 points, 14.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while posting a pair of double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the Deacons.

February 26

Player of the Week: Jean Georges, Caldwell (Sr., G, 6-3, Vauxhal, NJ) - Shot 61.5-percent (16-of-26) from the field and averaged 26.0 points per-game in leading the Cougars to a 2-0 week. Tallied 34 points against Nyack on 9-for-14 shooting. For the week, shot 50-percent (7-for-14) from the 3-point line and 92.9-percent (13-of-14) from the free-throw line.

Rookie of the Week: Omari Knox, Bloomfield (So., G, 6-2, Brooklyn, NY) - Recorded two double-doubles in three games and averaged 11.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.33 assists and 2.67 steals per-game for the week. Registered 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals against Holy Family.

March 5

Player of the Week: Jean Georges, Caldwell (Sr., G, 6-3, Vauxhal, NJ) - Was named MVP of the CACC Tournament after averaging 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 steals per-game in leading the Cougars to the championship. Shot 7-for-14 (.500) from 3-point range and 17-of-23 (.739) from the free-throw line for the week.

Rookie of the Week: Sam Cricelli, Caldwell (Fr., F, 6-7, Brighton, England) - Was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per-game in three games. Shot 12-for-18 (.667) from the field for the week and tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and a steal in the championship game.
