GEORGES OF CALDWELL NAMED MEN'S HOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Senior Jean Georges of Caldwell College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACCC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 25. Omari Knox of Bloomfield College has earned Rookie of the Week accolades for the fourth time this season.
Georges, a 6-3 senior guard from Vauxhal, NJ, shot 61.5-percent (16-of-26) from the field and averaged 26.0 points per-game in leading the Cougars to a 2-0 week. He tallied 34 points against Nyack on 9-for-14 shooting. For the week, he shot 50-percent (7-for-14) from the 3-point line and 92.9-percent (13-of-14) from the free-throw line.
Knox, a 6-2 sophomore guard from Brooklyn, NY, recorded two double-doubles in three games and averaged 11.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.33 assists and 2.67 steals per-game for the week. He registered 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals against Holy Family.
Honorable Mention
Raheem Scott, Holy Family - Averaged 23.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a 2-0 week for the Tigers.
Andre Dabney, Bloomfield - Averaged 31 points and 5.0 rebounds per-game in a 2-1 week.
Michael Pierrot, Felician - Tallied 31 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks in a loss to USP.
CACC Notes
Caldwell: Senior guard Jean Georges became the fifth men's basketball player at Caldwell to total 1,000 points over two consecutive seasons. He surpassed the milestone with a career-high 34-point performance in last Tuesday's 74-53 win over Nyack. Georges now has scored 1,029 points in his junior and senior seasons combined, and 1,381 points in his four-year career to rank fifth all-time at Caldwell. The Cougars take on Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Del., in the first round of the CACC Tournament Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Felician: Felician has qualified for the league playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. It has never won the event, reaching the finals in 2002-03.
Post: Post finished the regular season in a three-way tie for first place in the CACC standings with a 14-6 mark. Post fell to Bloomfield last Tuesday and defeated Dominican 74-73 on the road last Thursday evening. The Eagles will be the No. 2 seed in the CACC men's basketball championships and will host No. 7 Felician College on Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center. The teams split the season-series with each team winning on their home courts. Post has won four of its last six games heading into the CACC Tournament, and enters the post-season winners of 13 of its last 17 games. Post finished the home portion of the schedule with a perfect 12-0 record.
USP: The Devils are ranked 24th nationally in scoring defense (63.6 ppg) in last week's NCAA statistics report. Bill Kurtz ranked 31st nationally in three-point field goals made per game (3.3) and 55th nationally in three-point field goal percentage (40.0%)
