Junior guard Adam Sabree nailed a three-pointer with four seconds on the clock to give the Cougars a 66-65 win over Mesa State on Friday. Senior guard Jean Georges tallied 20 points in both games to lead the Cougars. Georges now has scored 928 points in his career to rank 15th on Caldwell's all-time scoring list.
Felician - Only four players on Felician's 10-man roster were with the team last season, and just two, Michael Pierrot and Sydir Mitchell, started games in 2005-06.
Holy Family - Holy Family beat a Northeast-10 school for the first time in school history with a win over UMass-Lowell. The Tigers won a season-opener for the first time since November 13, 2003.
Philadelphia - Philadelphia University officially named the basketball floor at the new Athletic & Recreation Center "Herb Magee Court", in a ceremony on Saturday, November 18th, prior to the Rams' win over Chestnut Hill College. Magee currently needs just 14 victories to become the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division II men's basketball history.
Post - Post opened the season with a 1-2 record in three games last week. The Eagles opened with a 61-52 win over Merrimack College at the Drubner Center. Junior Peter Lawal and junior Arthur Robertson each had double-doubles to lead the Eagles. Lawal had game highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Robertson came off the bench to score 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was the Eagles' first win against a Northeast-10 conference school since joining NCAA Division II. Against Bridgeport, the Eagles were trailing by one point with 32 seconds left, and on a missed free throw attempt, Bridgeport got the rebound and laid it in to seal the win. Sophomore AJ Reitter had a team-high 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead three scorers in double figures. In the second game of the UB Purple Knight Classic, the Eagles made a comeback with time running out in regulation, only to fall to UMass.-Lowell, 75-70.
