CACC Notes

Caldwell - Senior guard Jean Georges led the Cougars in scoring in wins over Bloomfield and USP last week with 23 and 24 points, respectively. Entering this week's games, Georges has scored 1,233 career points, leaving him eight points shy of fifth place on Caldwell's all-time scoring list. Freshman forward Sam Cricelli has averaged 23.0 points and 8.7 rebounds during Caldwell's current three-game winning streak. He has made 71.4 percent (30-of-42) from the field during that stretch. The Cougars play their final non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 30, when they host Adelphi University from the East Coast Conference.

Felician - Senior center Michael Pierrot has recorded seven consecutive 20+ point games. Of Pierrot's nine double-doubles this season, six have come in January. Senior forward Sydir Mitchell scored 20 points at Dominican on Wednesday, the ninth time this season he has had at least that many.

Philadelphia - Head Coach Herb Magee registered his 828th career coaching victory in the Rams' win at Holy Family University on January 24th. This total ties him with the late Clarence "Big House" Gaines for first all-time in NCAA Division II history. Magee will look to eclipse the mark when Philadelphia plays a key conference contest at Wilmington College on Thursday, February 1st. Senior center Christian Burns needs just 78 points for 1,000 in his Philadelphia University career. Burns would do so in less than two seasons with the Rams after transferring from Quinnipiac University prior to the 2005-06 season.

Post - Post won its eighth straight game, with an 83-67 win over Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles, who have won nine of their last 10 games, set a new school-record for consecutive wins, eclipsing the old mark set in the 2002-03 season. Post began the week with an 89-54 win over Dominican College. Junior Arthur Robertson led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Junior Peter Lawal and sophomore Omar Robinson had 14 points, while sophomore AJ Reitter added 13. On Wednesday, the Eagles had another balanced offensive night as five scorers poured in double digits, to lead Post to an 85-73 win over Nyack. On Saturday, in a battle of two of the top teams in the conference, the Eagles withstood a 20-4 run in the second half by Philadelphia to come back with a 28-4 run of their own to move into a first place tie with the Rams a t 10-3.

USP - The Devils are ranked 13th nationally in scoring defense (61.3 pts. Allowed /gm) and 43rd nationally in FG% defense (41.3%). USP has won four of its last six games.
