NEW HAVEN, CT - Andre Dabney, a senior guard at Bloomfield College, has earned men's basketball Player of the Week honors from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the week ending Sunday, January 14. Wilmington sophomore Antonio Sherrod has been named the Rookie of the Week.

Dabney, a 5-10 guard from Plainfield, NJ, recorded a milestone by notching his 2,000th career-point against Holy Family on Saturday, January 13th. He reached the milestone during a 35-point outburst against the Tigers. For the week, he averaged 31.5 points, 8.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game while shooting 45.8-percent (11-of-24) from long range. He also registered 28 points, seven assists and five rebounds against Felician earlier in the week.

Sherrod, a 6-5 sophomore forward from Glen Burnie, MD, averaged a double-double for the week with 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per-game. He tallied 18 points and eight rebounds at Nyack and added nine points and 16 boards versus Post.

Honorable Mention

Michael Pierrot, Felician - Averaged 28.7 points and 11.7 rebounds in three games for the Golden Falcons.

Ryan Lancaster, Holy Family - Posted averages of 25.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the week.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - Deacon guard Andre Dabney scored a team-high 35 points in a loss to Holy Family on Saturday, including his 2,000th career point with 3:52 remaining in regulation.

Felician - Senior center Michael Pierrot has recorded "20-10" games in 5 of his last 6 appearances, with two "30-10" games in that stretch. Of his six 20+ point games this season, Saturday at USP was the first one Felician has lost.

Holy Family - Tigers are ranked sixth in Division II in scoring defense at 57.2 points per game, heading into last week. The Tigers also rank 11th in field goal percentage defense (39.2) and 19th in blocked shots per game (4.7) in Division II.

Philadelphia - With his three wins this past week, Head Coach Herb Magee has moved to within two victories of the NCAA Division II record for career wins. Magee, who now has 826 career victories, trails current record-holder Clarence "Big House" Gaines, who retired with 828 career wins.

USP - USP has now won six of its last eight games. USP's 30 point win over Felician was their largest margin of victory since they defeated Swarthmore College by 32 seven years earlier. Since returning from injury, William Kurtz has made 26 three point field goals in the nine games he has played and now trails only Joe Miller (253) on the Devils all-time three point field goals made list with 225 for his career.
