BURNS, MILES, DONNELLY AND GOLDEY-BEACOM EARN TOP CACC MEN'S BASKETBALL HONORS

NEW HAVEN - Philadelphia University senior center Christian Burns has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year in balloting released today. Goldey-Beacom freshman guard Adrian Miles has been selected as the Rookie of the Year, while Post University head coach Mike Donnelly was honored as the Coach of the Year. Goldey-Beacom was the pick for the annual Team Sportsmanship Award. The conference's 11 head coaches conducted the voting.

Burns, who was named to the first team for the second straight year, ranks second in the CACC in scoring (22.0), field-goal percentage (.556) and blocks (2.12) and first in rebounding (11.3). Burns and Philadelphia are the top seed in this week's CACC Tournament.

The rest of the first team consists of four seniors, including four-time, first team selection Andre Dabney of Bloomfield, guard Jean Georges of Caldwell, forward Prince Jackson of Dominican and center Michael Pierrot of Felician. Jackson was also voted to the first team last year.

Dabney finished the regular-season ranked first in the conference in scoring (24.6) and 3-pointers made per-game (3.48), while ranking fourth in steals (1.93) and free-throw percentage (.808). Georges ranks fifth in the CACC in scoring (18.3) and first in 3-point-field goal percentage (.434). Jackson stands sixth in the conference in points (17.6), while Pierrot is third in scoring (20.5), second in rebounds (10.3), third in field goal percentage (.548) and first in blocks (2.35).

Holy Family, which is the third seed in this week's CACC Tournament, boasts two players on the second team in senior guard Raheem Scott and junior guard Ryan Lancaster. The other second team picks are junior forward Jason Hickenbottom of Philadelphia, junior guard Sheanan Martinez of Nyack and junior forward Derek Savage of Goldey-Beacom.

The third team consists of three seniors in guard Bill Kurtz of USP, forward Sydir Mitchell of Felician and guard DJ Stanberry of Goldey-Beacom. Also on the third team is junior guard Arthur Robertson of Post and junior forward B.J. Suchy of Caldwell.

Honorable Mention picks include sophomore guard AJ Reitter and junior forward Peter Lawal of Post and junior forward Taureen Temple of Wilmington. The complete All-CACC team is listed on the following page.
