BLOOMFIELD MEN, HOLY FAMILY WOMEN, RANKED IN DIVISION II BULLETIN PRE-SEASON BASKETBALL POLLS

NEW HAVEN - The Bloomfield College men and the Holy Family University women are both ranked according to the 2006 Division II Bulletin Pre-season Men's and Women's Basketball Top 25 Polls. The Deacons are 25th on the men's side and the Tigers are 17th in the women's poll.

Bloomfield won last season's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular-season and tournament championships. The Deacons defeated Dominican College in the Tournament Championship, 70-64. As a result of the conference title, the Deacons made their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament before falling to the Northeast Region's top seed, Stonehill College, in the first round. Bloomfield finished the season 21-10 overall and 17-5 in the CACC.

The Deacons begin the 2006-07 season on November 17th at West Chester University.

Holy Family enjoyed an outstanding 2005-06 season and earned the CACC's first-ever NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament victory with a 70-62 triumph over Pace University in the opening round. The Tigers fell to the region's top seed, Southern Connecticut State, in the next round. However, the Tigers won a CACC regular-season championship and concluded the season with a 29-3 overall mark and an unblemished 24-0 record in the CACC.

The Tigers will open the season with a home game against New York Institute of Technology on November 19th.

Division II Bulletin, published since 1991, is the leading publication covering men's and women's Division II basketball. It comes out 12 times during the basketball season.
