Four CACC Golfers Named to Ping Division II East All-Region Squad

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 8, 2012) – A pair of golfers from both Wilmington University and Post University have been named to the 12-member, 2012 Ping Division II East All-Region Team, which was released this week.

Representing Wilmington is Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Golf of the Year, senior Daniel Ott (Pilesgrove, N.J.) and junior Paul Tighe (Logan, N.J.), who was the medalist at the 2012 CACC Golf Championship.

Tighe also finished tied for 30th at the 2012 NCAA Division II Championship with a four-round total of 218 (+2), the top finisher among any CACC golfer at the event.

Post honorees included junior Thomas Rees (York, England) and sophomore Ross Earnshaw (Cardiff, Wales).

Rees turned in a one-under par on the second day of the NCAA Division II National Championship in Louisville, Ky., in May. A two-time All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) selection, Rees boasted the lowest scoring average on the team this season, and led the Eagles with five top-10 finishes. He was also Post's top individual finisher at the CACC Tournament. He came in fourth and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team following the event.

Earnshaw earned All-Region honors for the first time in his career. He is a two-time all-conference choice and earned a third place finish at the St. Thomas Aquinas Fall Classic. Earnshaw finished tied for seventh at the CACC Championship in April.

In total, 107 student-athletes were honored in nine regions, and the individuals were selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
