Wilmington University Leads After Day 1 of 2012 CACC Golf Championship
Lafayette Hill, Pa. (April 10, 2012) –
Wilmington University posted a first-round team score of 309 (+21)
to take the lead after the opening day of the 2012 CACC Golf
Championship, which is being played at Whitemarsh Country Club in
Lafayette Hill, Pa., and hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
Wilmington leads Post, which posted a team score of 314 (+26) by five strokes entering Wednesday’s final round of play. Concordia checks in at third with a first-round tally of 316 (+28).
2012 CACC Golfer of the Year, Daniel Ott (Pilesgrove, Pa.) is tied with Concordia’s Jeff Schaller (Kingston, N.Y.) for the individual lead as both golfers posted a 75 (+3) during the opening round. They are followed by a trio of players, including Thomas Rees (Post), Paul Tighe (Wilmington) and Patrick McRae (Goldey-Beacom), who each recorded an opening round score of 76 (+4).
The 2012 CACC Golf Tournament concludes tomorrow, Wednesday, April 11 with the final round teeing off at approximately 8 a.m. at the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club.
