Post's Anthony Netto Golf Player/Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 3, 2012) - Post University sophomore Anthony Netto (Dusseldorf, Germany) swept the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf honors for the period ending April 2, as he was named as the winner of both the CACC Men's Golf Player and Rookie of the Week honors.

 

CACC Golf Player/Rookie of the Week
Anthony Netto, Post (So., 6-0, Dusseldorf, Germany)
Finished tied for third overall out of 80 top Division II golfers at the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate.  Netto shot a 138 (70-68) (-6) over two rounds.  He became the first Post golfer this season to shoot two rounds under par at the same tournament.

 

 

CACC Men’s Golf Honorable Mention
Sam Deitte, Concordia (So., St. Louis, Mo.)
Shot an 80-75-83 over three rounds to help the Clippers earn a win at the Philadelphia University Invitational last week.

Eric Reiher, Dominican (Fr., Milford, Pa.)
Posted a round of 77 to capture the individual title at the Philadelphia Tri-Match while also finishing in 17th place overall at the Edwin B. Cotrell Invite with a score of 162 (79-83).



Golf Team Notes
Chestnut Hill - The Griffins will host the first-ever Griffin Invitational at Westover Golf Club on Monday, April 2.

Concordia - Concordia placed first in the Philadelphia U. Invitational last Monday. The Clippers previously finished T-10th at the Peter King Invitational. Concordia will prepare for the CACC Championships at the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa. on April 10th.

Dominican - Dominican won the Philadelphia Tri-Match and finished 7th at the Dr. Edwin B. Cotrell Invite.

Nyack - A final team score of 392 by the Nyack College Warrior Golf Team is the lowest tournament round in the program’s history. It was also the lowest team round at the two day 8th Annual Peter King Memorial Tournament, (LI National GC, Riverhead, NY). Overall, Nyack finished 6th out of 18 tournament competitors. Freshmen Andres Aranguren (70) and Matt Yun (72) led the second day team scoring. Contributions by senior, Zhao Yang (75) and Junior, Sean Lawrence (76) rounded-out the historical total. Lawrence was the top Warrior scorer with a two day total of 152 (76,76).

Post - Post finished 7th at Carolina Sands. The tournament featured some of the top teams in NCAA DII including Golfstat.com’s 7th-ranked UNC-Pembroke, 22nd Barton, 26th Wingate, and 38th Belmont Abbey. Post shot its two lowest rounds of the season 290 and 298.
