FOUR CACC GOLFERS EARN PING ALL-REGION HONORS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 22, 2011) – Four golfers from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions have been selected to the PING All-East Region team. The recipients were Wilmington University’s Dan Ott and Paul Tighe and Post University’s David McGregor and Thomas Rees. The voting was conducted by the coaches in the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Ott, a sophomore, was named the CACC Golfer of the Year this season and was tabbed to the All-Tournament team after finishing third at the CACC Championships by carding a total of 150 (74, 76). With Ott helping to lead the way, Wilmington won the CACC Championship, placed third at the NCAA Super Regional and became the second team in CACC history to advance to the NCAA Championships.
Tighe, a sophomore, was also an All-Conference selection this season, and finished eighth at the CACC Championships. He was the Wildcats’ top finisher at the NCAA Super Regional, placing twelfth.
