DOMINICAN WINS INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM TITLES AT ECAC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

RIVERHEAD, NY - Dominican College's AJ Lee (Nanuet, NY) birdied the first playoff hole to win the individual title at the 2008 ECAC Division II Men's Golf Championships. The Chargers also won the team championship after shooting a 609 at the two-day championship at Long Island National Golf Course in Riverhead, NY. This the first-ever ECAC Championship for the Charger Golf Team.

Lee, a senior, shot a 68 on day one to put himself in a tie for first place and followed with a round of 75 for a total score of 143, one shot above par for the tournament.

Junior Brian Kivlehan (Mahwah, NJ) finished the tournament in fifth place with a two day total of 150 (72, 78) to finish eight strokes over par.

Sophomore Thomas Lalonde (Red Hook, NY) was the third finisher for DC with a total score of 158 (80, 78) to finish in a tie for 33rd place overall. Freshman Corey Fitzgerald (Sherburne, NY) finished in a tie for 69th place with rounds of 87 and 81 for a total score of 168. Fellow freshman John Murphy III (South Windsor, CT) rounded out the scoring for the Chargers with a total score of 168 (77, 91).

Post University tied for fourth at the event with a combined score of 616 (310, 306). The Eagles were led by junior Jamie Blake who tied for eighth place with a 152 after shooting a 76 in both rounds.

Goldey-Beacom College finished in eighth place after carding a 627 (308, 319). Freshman Chris Blades led the Lightning with a 153 after carding rounds of 75 and 78.
