CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College golf coach Mike Andrusin announced his recruiting class for the upcoming 2008-09 scholastic year. The four student-athletes who will be joining the Cougar golf program are Nate Cleary (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City), Daniel Garcia (Guadalajara, Mexico/German School), Randy Kurzinsky (Barnesville, PA/Dr. Phillips) and Kyle Weidemann (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon).

"Our program is gaining momentum," said Andrusin, who will start his third season at Caldwell this fall. "The four new golfers along with our talented core group will add to our team strength and depth. I am very excited about getting these young men on campus and playing our fall season. Look for good things to come from the Cougars golf team this year."

Cleary helped Johnson City High School to two STAC Central Division titles over the past three seasons. Individually, he qualified for the 2007 Triple Cities Golf Association Match Play Championship, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Garcia comes to Caldwell after an accomplished junior record in his native Mexico. In 2006, he won the Mexican Junior Golf Association Open, then tied for medalist honors at the MJGA Tour Championship in 2007. Garcia also tied for first at the Jalisco Junior Cup in 2006. This year Garcia, who has shot a low round of 68, captured two Interstate Tour events.

Kurzinsky spent his senior year at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., where he received Metro Conference honorable mention. He won the Orlando Junior Golf Club Holiday Championship last December, and captured the Premier Junior Tour event held in Tampa, Fla., in April. Before moving to Florida, Kurzinsky attended Mahanoy Area High School in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. He helped Mahanoy win Schuylkill League championships in 2005 and 2007.

Weidemann received all-Area honorable mention from the Daily Record after his senior season at Kinnelon High School. He helped launch the varsity golf program at Kinnelon, which added the sport in the spring of 2007.

The recruits will join a Cougar golf squad that returns three players from last year's team that won two events during the regular season and placed seventh at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.
