BLAINE, Wash. - Post University head golf coach, Pete Stevens, has been named the East Region Division II Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Stevens is one of eight coaches to receive the award throughout the country.

"I am very happy for Pete and his selection as the East Region Golf Coach of the Year," said Post Athletic Director Anthony Fallacaro. "The long hours and dedication to his team and their success are what makes Pete a special coach. He has built a winning tradition here at Post University and this honor highlights his achievements and accomplishments."

The 2008-2009 season marked the fourth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship for the Eagles. In addition, Stevens guided the team to its seventh appearance at the NCAA Super Regional Tournament in Beckley, W. Va., where the team placed eighth.

"It is an honor to be selected by my peers as Coach of the Year," said Stevens. "I worked hard for this and so have my players. Hopefully we can continue down this path and experience more success in the future."

The Eagles' only senior, Jamie Blake, and only junior, Lee Wanklyn, were both named to the Division II PING East All-Region team this season.

Post will see three of its top five players return next season, led by Wanklyn, David McGregor, and Gavin Wilson.
