2008 CACC Golf Weekly Awards

March 25

Player of the Week: Lee Wanklyn, Post (So., Berkshire, England) - Tied for third place at the Pace University Invitational in Myrtle Beach, SC. He fired a two-day total of 151 (+7) after shooting rounds of 76 and 75. He was the top finisher from a CACC school at the event.

Rookie of the Week: Thomas Lalonde, Dominican (Fr., Red Hook, NY) - Was the top CACC Rookie finisher at the Pace Invitational, placing ninth with a two-day total of 154 (+10). He carded rounds of 80 and 74 to record the third-lowest total of any CACC performer at the event.

March 31

Player of the Week: Jonathan Carr, Nyack (Sr., Aurora, Ontario) - Carr won the Holy Family Duals by shooting a round of 74 on Friday. He won the event by one stroke.

Rookie of the Week: Joe Leardo, Felician (Fr., Belleville, NJ) - Fired a 79 at Holy Family to finish in a tie for fourth place. He was the top CACC rookie finisher at the event.

April 7

Player and Rookie of the Week: David McGregor, Post (Fr., Helensburgh, Scotland) - Tied for second place at the 16-team Goldey-Beacom Invitational after firing rounds of 77 and a one-over-par 71 (148, +5). He helped lead Post to a third place finish at the event.

April 14

Player and Rookie of the Week: Ryan Philipp, Post (Fr., Bristol, CT) - Was the individual medalist at Dowling College's Peter King Memorial Invitational last Sunday and Monday. He shot rounds of 75 and 71 for a total of 146 (+4). He led the Eagles to the team championship.

April 21

Player and Rookie of the Week: David McGregor, Post (Fr., Helensburgh, Scotland) - Was the individual medalist at the 2008 CACC Golf Championship. He shot a 75 in the first round and followed with a tournament-best 67 (-4) the following day for a total of 142 (even par).

April 28

Player and Rookie of the Week: Ryan Philipp, Post (Fr., Bristol, CT) - Was the top CACC finisher at the American International Invitational on April 21-22. He placed third in leading Post to the team title. Philipp fired rounds of 77 and 71 for a total of 148 (+4).
