POST SITS THIRD AT NCAA GOLF REGIONAL; MACKEY LEADS INDIVIDUAL STANDINGS

MIDDLETOWN, DE-The Post University golf team is in third place after the second day of competition at the NCAA Division II Northeast Region Tournament in Middletown, DE. The Eagles have a two-day score of 607 (307, 300) and are only two shots behind second-place Pace University (605) and four shots short of the leader, Bryant University (603). Wilmington University is in seventh place with a two-day score of 638 (329, 309). Furthermore, Dominican College senior Brian Mackey is leading the event with a two-round total of 142 (E).

The tournament is being played at Back Creek Golf Club, which is a par 71, 6,500-yard course. Wednesday's third and final round will decide who advances to the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Post has been led by James Blake, who has fired rounds of 77 and 73 (+8) for a total of 150. Freshmen David McGregor and Ryan Philipp are both nine over par. McGregor shot rounds of 77 and 74, while Philipp carded totals of 75 and 76.

Mackey, who is playing as an individual at the tournament, opened the tournament with a 73 and followed with a two under-par 69 today. He is five shots clear of second place Brant Kummerfeld of Adelphi.

Wilmington has been led by senior Lorne Shannon, who has carded rounds of 74 and 79.
