DOMINICAN'S MACKEY FINISHES 32ND AT NCAA DIVISION II GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

HOUSTON, TX (May 19, 2008) - Dominican College senior golfer, Brian Mackey, finished the final round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships on Sunday at Memorial Park Golf Course in a four-way tie for 32nd place out of 104 golfers. Mackey qualified for the event after winning the East/Northeast Super Regional individual championship the previous week.

Mackey, a senior who hails from Chestnut Ridge, NY, fired a final round of 73 (+3). He started off on the back nine and had five bogeyes to finish five over-par. On the front nine he birdied the first hole, shot for par on the second hole and birdied the third to move to four-over. After a par on the fifth hole, he birdied the sixth and shot par in the final three holes for a round of 73 (+3).

Mackey finished the four-day NCAA Championship with a total score of 287 (+7). He shot a 72 on the first day and followed with 71, 71 and 73 to put him in the four-way tie for 32nd place.
