NEW HAVEN, CT - David McGregor of Post University has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player and Rookie of the Week for men's golf for the week ending Sunday, April 20.
McGregor, a freshman from Helensburgh, Scotland, was the individual medalist at the 2008 CACC Golf Championship. He shot a 75 in the first round and followed with a tournament-best 67 (-4) the following day for a total of 142 (even par). Honorable Mention Thomas Lalonde, Dominican (Fr., Red Hook, NY) - Placed second at the CACC Championship with a two-round total of 151 (79, 72). Ryan Philipp, Post (Fr., Bristol, CT) - Finished in third place at the CACC Championship after carding a 152 (75, 77). Calum Malcolm, Post (Sr., Dunfermline, Scotland) - Fired a two-day total of 153 to place fourth at the CACC Championship. Carded a 75 on day one, followed by a 78 in the second round. Joe Peters, Felician (So., Barnegat, NJ) - Finished in first place at the six-team USP Invitational, shooting a 75. |
