CUTLER SELECTED GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Steve Cutler of Goldey-Beacom College has been tabbed Men's Golf Player of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Lee Wanklyn of Post University has been chosen Rookie of the Week.

Cutler, a senior from Kennett Square, PA, finished in a tie for second place at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational with a two-day score of 143 (-1) early last week. He opened with a 72 and fired a 71 in the final round. Cutler helped lead the Lightning to a 10th place finish.

Wanklyn, a freshman from England, won the Holy Family Invitational with a two-over 72 at the Torresdale-Frankford Country Club Wednesday. He also finished in a tie for ninth place overall at the two-day Goldey-Beacom Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. He finished +9 for the tournament to lead the Eagles to a sixth-place finish.

Honorable Mention

John Purple, Wilmington - Finished in a tie for fifth place at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational with a two-day score of 149 (+5). He fired a 76 in the first round and finished with a 73.

Brian Mackey, Dominican - Tied for ninth with a two-day score of 153 (+9) at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational. Shot rounds of 77 and 76 to lead the Chargers to a fifth-place finish.

CACC Notes

Felician - All four Felician scorers on Saturday in North Carolina shot their lowest rounds of the season: Joseph Peters, 85; Rob Young, 91; Ryan Fogarty, 92; and Greg Patullo, 101. In two 36 hole events on the week, Patullo dropped 65 strokes from the GBC Invitational (273) to the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate (208). Peters set records for 18 (85) and 36 holes (171) at Carolina Sands for the two-year-old Felician program.

USP - The Devils are now 2-6 on the season. USP had their lowest score in over seven years on Friday, shooting a 315. Freshman Dan Lovette shot a 79 on Thursday and a 78 on Friday, joining Scott Cahayla in breaking 80 on both days.
