GOLDEY-BEACOM HIRES ASBELL AS GOLF COACH

WILMINGTON, DE ? Goldey-Beacom College Director of Athletics Chris Morgan has named John Asbell as Head Men's Golf Coach.

"We are very fortunate to have added John to our staff," said Morgan. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for golf; he will be a great role model for our student-athletes."

Asbell, a member of the US Golf Teaching Federation, has served as the Assistant Golf Coach at Wilmington College for the past two seasons. He will take over the GBC program from Jim Mahoney, who is retiring after leading this year's team to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, and a 20th place finish at the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity of being a part of Goldey-Beacom College and its Golf program. I will strive to continue the program's tradition of academic and athletic success," stated Asbell.

A graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College, Asbell serves as a New Castle County Police Officer, and resides in Warwick, MD.
