POST LEADS CACC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS AFTER DAY ONE

April 10, 2006

MIDDLEFIELD, CT - The Post University golf team leads the 2006 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament by three shots going into Tuesday's Final Round. The Eagles shot a team 307 to open a four stroke lead on three-time defending CACC Champion Goldey-Beacom College. Wilmington College stands in third place with a 313.

Three-time defending individual champion Michael Tobiason of Goldey-Beacom is currently tied for first, along with teammate Steve Cutler and Calum Malcolm of Post. All three fired rounds of 73 on the first day of action.

John Purple of Wilmington College is just one stroke behind the leaders, while Jamie Blake and Tom Dorso of Post are also in the hunt after both shooting a 76.

The final round of competition will begin on Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 am at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, CT.
