GOLDEY-BEACOM SEEKS FOURTH CONSECUTIVE CACC MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

April 6, 2006

NEW HAVEN, CT - Goldey-Beacom College will be seeking its fourth consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf Championship on Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11, as the 2005-06 Tournament gets underway. The Tournament will be held at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, CT. The tee-times for Monday's opening round will take place between 9:00 am and 11:15 am.

The field for this year's tournament will include 10 teams with the addition of Philadelphia University and Felician College. This is Philadelphia's first year as a member of the CACC and Felician added the sport this season. The other participants are Post University, Goldey-Beacom, Dominican College, Wilmington College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Caldwell College.

Senior Mike Tobiason has won three straight individual CACC titles and will lead Goldey-Beacom again this season. The Lightning won last year's tournament with a total score of 625 (320, 305), 12 strokes better than Post. Nyack and Wilmington each fired a 670 to tie for third place.

Post was within one stroke of the lead after the first round (321-320), but the Lightning pulled away with their outstanding second-day total of 305. Post fired a 316 on day two.

Tobiason was the overall winner with a two-round total of 147 (75, 72), one stroke ahead of junior teammate Steve Cutler's total of 148 (77, 71).
