Goldey-Beacom Finishes in Tie for Fifth Place at The Peter King Memorial

MANORVILLE, NY ? Junior Mike Tobiason (Wilmington, DE) posted his second-straight first-place finish to help Goldey-Beacom to a fifth-place tie with Pace University at The Peter King Memorial at the Pine Hills Country Club this past weekend in New York.

The Lightning finished with a combined score of 695 (+111), which was 37 strokes behind first-place St. Thomas Aquinas, who finished at +74 (658). Dowling College (host) was second at +87 (671), followed by Post University in third place at +102 (686).

Tobiason finished the event at +9 (155), posting a +4 in the opening round and a +5 in the closing round. Michael Padham of Pace University was two strokes off the lead at +11 (157) while Matt Demaro of St. Thomas Aquinas finished in third place at +16 (162).

Other Lightning finishers included sophomore Steve Cutler (Kennett Square, PA) in a tie for 27th place at +30 (176), senior Michael Clair (Landenberg, PA) in a tie for 41st place at +38 (184), junior Nick Nardo (Newark, DE) in a tie for 46th place at +41 (187), and senior Chris Ciupinski (Ocean Township, NJ) in 52nd place at +48 (194).

The Lightning return to action this Friday when they take on Holy Family University at the Torresdale-Frankford Country Club.
