Lighting Golfers Place Sixth at St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational

KIAMESHA LAKE, NY ? The Goldey-Beacom College golf team posted a sixth place finish this past weekend at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational at The Concord Golf Club in Kiamesha Lake, NY.

The Lightning finished with a combined two-day team score of 666 (+90). St. Thomas Aquinas captured the team crown, finishing with a score of 642 (+66), followed by Post University at 647 (+71), Dowling College at 650 (+74), Pace University at 652 (+76) and New Haven at 660 (+84) to round out the top five.

Junior Mike Tobiason (Wilmington, DE) ? the 2004 CACC Golfer of the Year ? captured the individual crown with a two-day total of 152 (+8), two shots better than Calum Malcolm of Post University (+10). For his efforts, Tobiason was also named CACC Golfer of the Week.

GBC sophomore Steve Cutler (Kennett Square, PA) was the next highest finisher in 19th place at +21 (165), followed in a tie for 42nd place by senior Michael Clair (Landenberg, PA) at +31 (175), junior Nick Nardo (Newark, DE) in a tie for 44th place at +32 (176), and freshman Mark Agnew (Newark, DE) in a tie for 47th place at +33 (177).

The Lightning return to action this Sunday when they travel to New York to take on Dowling College at Pine Hills Country Club.
