DOMINICAN’S JACARUSO AWARDED WITH PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WATERBURY, CT- Sophomore Justin Jacaruso Dominican College was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week Sunday. He was the medallist in a five-team event Friday, which featured three other CACC schools.

Jacaruso fired an even-par 72, which was good for a one-shot victory. Post finished second in the event won by Dowling. Dominican, Goldey-Beacom, and Nyack rounded out the top five.

Post University’s Dave Croteau (Terryville, CT) fired a 75 and was named Honorable Mention this week along with teammate Calum Malcolm (Dunferminline, Scotland) who also notched a 75.

Post University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Dominican College, Wilmington College, and Caldwell College will compete in the 36-hole CACC Championships Monday and Tuesday.

Goldey-Beacom is the defending team champion. Mike Tobiason of Goldey-Beacom College is the defending medallist.

Post is ranked third in the Division II Northeast region and GBC is sixth. The top eight teams in the region will go to the NCAA Tournament. Croteau is the fourth-ranked golfer in the region, while Tobiason of Goldey-Beacom College is third.
