Goldey-Beacom, Holy Family Golf Tie for First Place; Tobiason Wins Individual Title

PHILADELPHIA, PA ? Junior Mike Tobiason (Wilmington, DE) shot a +2 (72) to capture the individual crown and lead the Goldey-Beacom College to a first-place tie with Holy Family University Friday afternoon at Torresdale-Frankford Golf Club in Philadelphia.

Both the Lightning and the Tigers finished with a team score of +38 (318) to finish atop the leader board. Swarthmore College finished in third place with a combined score of +41 (321), followed by Wilmington College in fourth place at +51 (331) and Widener College in fifth place at +73 (353).

Alex Brown of Wilmington College and Eric Zwick of Swarthmore each finished one stroke behind Tobiason at +3 (73) while Bill Fitzgerald and Matt Deckert of Holy Family finished six strokes back at +8 (78).

Other finishers for Goldey-Beacom included senior Michael Clair (Landenberg, PA) and sophomore Steve Cutler (Kennett Square, PA) in a tie for ninth place at +11 (81), sophomore David Pfotzer (Newark, DE) in a tie for 14th place at +14 (84), and freshman Mark Agnew (Newark, DE) in 20th place at +22 (92).

The Lightning return to action this Friday when they travel to New York to take on CACC rival Dominican College at the Blue Hill Golf Course.
