Dave Croteau earns medallist honors

Middlefield, CT-The Teikyo Post University men's golf team dominated the field in the Teikyo Post University Invitational held Tuesday at Lyman Orchards.

Dave Croteau (Terryville, CT) led Post with a 77 on the Par 72 Robert Trent Jones design. Tom Dorso (Waterbury, CT) finished second with a 78.

Post won with a team score of 315. Southern New Hampshire came in at 324, Dominican at 345 and Queens rounded things out with a 348.

The victory comes on the same day that Post found out they are now regionally ranked in the New England region. Post is third behind Saint Thomas Aquinas College and Bryant University. The ranking is the highest for Post in any sport. The top eight teams in the region will be in the NCAA Tournament in the spring. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament winner will automatically qualify. This season Post will host the CACCs. Post is now 33-6 in the fall.

Scotland's Calum Malcolm fired a 79 (T 3rd) and Adam Belleville (Ludlow, MA) came in with an 81 (6th).

"Scores were high today due to windy conditions," said golf coach Pete Stevens. "The ball flight was hampered by the cool weather. Overall this was a good match for us to get ready for the Saint Thomas Aquinas Invitational at the end of the month."

Post is back in action Friday for the Saint Rose Invitational in Albany, New York.
