Goldey-Beacom Captures Inaugural GBC Fall Invitational

AVONDALE, PA ? The Goldey-Beacom College golf team captured the inaugural GBC Fall Invitational Monday afternoon at Hartefeld National Golf Course in Pennsylvania.

The Lightning finished with a combined two-round score of 638, which bested second-place University of Delaware by eight strokes at 646. Adelphia University finished in third place at 682, followed by Dominican College (689), Alvernia College (690), Wilmington College (706), Eastern University (776) and Holy Family (no score).

Junior Nick Nardo (Newark, DE) of Goldey-Beacom College captured the individual championship with a final score of 152, shooting a 75 in round one and a 77 in round two. Classmate Mike Tobiason (Wilmington, DE) of Goldey-Beacom was one stroke behind in second place at 153, shooting a 76 in round one and a 77 in round two.

Freshman Mark Agnew (Newark, DE) and sophomore Steve Cutler (Kennett Square, PA) also posted strong outings for the Lightning, finishing tied for 13th place with a score of 168 (Agnew 86, 82; Cutler 83, 85). Additionally, Lightning senior Michael Clair (Landenberg, PA) finished in AVONDALE, PA ?
