Lakewood, NJ ? Georgian Court used a pair of come-from-behind wins, to eventually take down Felician College, 3-0, in CACC play tonight at the Casino. The Lions, winners of five out of their last six, have taken both matches from Felician this season.

The going was tough early for the Lions, as the visiting Falcons grabbed an early lead in game one and refused to relent. Finally, down 20-19, the Lions finished the period on an 11-2 run to win 30-22. After a 30-17 victory in game two, GCU once again found themselves on the ropes, trailing Felician 29-24. With sophomore Heather Walker holding serve for the Lions, GCU went on a 7-0 run to win the third stanza, 31-29, sealing the win.

Playing without injured CACC Rookie of the Week Billeny Rivera and freshman hitter Heather Leonhardt, it was freshman Claudimary Rivera who led the way for the Lions, notching a game-high 17 kills and 6 service aces. Sophomore Diana Rubio, starting in place of Billeny Rivera, scored a career-best 12 kills in the game, adding 6 digs.

Felician, who earned a 3-0 win over CACC rival Holy Family University (5-4 CACC) their last time out, was led by sophomore Danielle Norman?s 5 kills and 2 aces. Ashley Patterson and Suzanne Albert finished with a team-high 8 digs apiece.

With the win GCU advances to 7-8 overall and 7-5 in CACC play. Their seven wins in conference play are the most in program history. Felician dipped to 1-13, 1-9, respectively.

GCU will continue their conference run, hosting the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Friday night, at 7:00pm.
