FELICIAN WOMEN PLACE 19TH AT NCAA CROSS COUNTRY REGIONAL

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Felician women's cross-country team finished 19th out of 32 schools at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships, held Saturday morning at Slippery Rock University.
The Golden Falcons were led by juniors Amanda Scibetta (Middletown, NJ) and Melissa Barroqueiro (Carteret, NJ), who finished within 1.35 seconds of each other. Scibetta was in 75th place out of 189 entrants, completing the 6,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 2.35 seconds, while Barroqueiro was 76th in 26:03.70.
Felician finished second among Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schools with 541 points. Georgian Court University was in 16th place scoring 501 points. Kutztown University won the regional team championship (51 points), and Nicole Blaesser of Indiana University of Pennsylvania was the individual champion with a 21:43.75.
Complete results are attached. The regional race is 1,000 meters longer than a regular-season course.
