PHILADELPHIA WOMEN'S SOCCER GETS PAST HOLY FAMILY, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. * Two early goals by Philadelphia University proved to the difference as the Rams (11-3-1, 8-0-0) took sole possession of first place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a 2-1 win over Holy Family (8-5-2, 6-1-1 CACC) Thursday afternoon in East Falls.

The Rams got on the board 14 minutes in when Kyra Downing scored on a header off ofa Jill Sokoski corner kick. Philadelphia went up 2-0 just 11 minutes later when Rebecca Kennedy headed the ball into the cage off of a Jessica Aaron direct kick.

Holy Family's lone goal came when Maureen Hampton (Sr./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) scored her fourth goal of the season on a Carly D'Errico (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) assist.

Holy Family, who was outshot 18-12, got eight saves from Kelly McGrogan (Jr./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) in the loss. Sara Hall made six saves for Philadelphia University.

Holy Family will host Georgian Court at noon on Sunday. The Lions are currently in second place in the CACC.
