LIGHTNING SWEEP LADY CHARGERS IN VOLLEYBALL ACTION

Blauvelt, NY - The Goldey-Beacom women's volleyball team improved to 9-10 overall and 8-3 in the CACC with a 3-0 win over Dominican College this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match held at the Hennessy Center.
GBC held on for a 30-28 victory in game one, took game two 30-22 and won the final game 30-26 for the 3-0 victory.
The Lightning were led by junior middle hitter Ashley Carberry (Newark, DE) who led all attackers with 16 kills. Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) added 10 kills, while Adrienne Melvin (Newark, DE) had a team leading 15 digs. Senior setter Daneille Hicks (Landenberg, PA) had 40 assists in the win.
Sophomore Theresa Hanneman (Pearl River, NY) led the Lady Chargers with 11 kills, while Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) had eight kills and a team leading 20 digs in the loss. Ashley Simpson (Spring Valley, NY) added seven kills and Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) had 31 assists, respectively.
With the loss, Dominican improves to 3-16 overall and 3-8 in the CACC.
Dominican will be in action on Tuesday October 10, when they host Caldwell College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action scheduled for 7pm at the Hennessy Center
