BLOOMFIELD DEFEATS DOMINICAN VOLLEYBALL, 3-0

Bloomfield, NJ ? The Lady Chargers of Dominican College squared off against the Lady Deacons of Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match that saw Bloomfield outlast Dominican in straight games 3-0. The Lady Deacons improve to 7-2 in conference play, 8-5 overall while the Lady Chargers fall to 3-7 in the conference with a 3-14 record overall. Bloomfield took control in Game 1 dominating 30-15 only to see Dominican come charging back in Game 2 and to find themselves with game point leading the Lady Deacons 29-28. Bloomfield dug their heels in and came away with Game 2, 32-30.

The Lady Deacons sealed the deal in Game 3 winning 30-18, taking the match 3-0.

Bloomfield saw an outstanding performance from their sophomore setter, Sonia Perez (Hackensack, NJ) as she registered, a game high, 45 assists. The Lady Deacons posted two players with double doubles as senior Juruena Silveira (Brazil) tallied 17 kills and 12 digs, and Ursula Pereira (Newark, NJ) poured in 15 kills to go along with 12 digs.

The Lady Chargers were paced by sophomore, Kaitlin Earl (Greenville, NY) with 17 assists and 13 digs. Antoinette Hackett (Pearl River, NY) chipped in 14 digs and sophomore Kanikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) had a game high 18 digs.

The Lady Deacons continue to thrill the home crowd, picking up their 5th straight victory at home. Bloomfield look to further that success this Saturday, October 7th, playing host to conference rival University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP). Game 1 is set to go at noon.
