WATERBURY, Conn.-Three Post University men's soccer players had a goal and an assist, to help lift the Eagles to a 4-1 win over visiting Assumption College, on cold and cloudy Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Sophomore Alex Brito (Waterbury, Conn./Kennedy), junior Maurice Johnson (Bronx, N.Y./Bryant & Stratton), and sophomore Daniel Martins (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) each had a goal and assist for the Eagles (7-4-4, 4-1-2 CACC), who scored four goals in a game for the first time since a 4-0 win on September 14 at Nyack.

Post is now unbeaten in its last six matches, going 4-0-2 in that span, and its unbeaten in eight of their last nine matches, recording a 5-1-3 record in that time.

For the fourth match in a row, the Eagles gave up the first goal of the contest, as Charlie Donovan took a pass from Chris Bourdeau and placed it in the back of the net at the 20:06 mark, which gave Assumption (1-12-1) a 1-0 lead.

However the Eagles would tie it about four minutes later as Martins found the left foot of Johnson for his sixth goal of the season.

Post took the lead for good at the 50:59 mark, when Johnson who was set up on the right corner of the box found senior Adam Sabastian (Naugatuck, Conn./Kennedy) for his third goal of the season, which gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

The Eagles would pad their lead at the 70:53 point, when Martins found the back of the net, for his fourth goal of the season, off a cross from Brito.

Brito would close the books on the scoring with an unassisted tally of his own at the 77:43 mark with a shot in front. It was his second goal of the season.

Post used three goalkeepers in the match as sophomore Dan Nadel (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) started and made six saves in almost 73 minutes of action. Sophomore Michael Aeschliman (Torrington, Conn./Torrington) played 9:05 and did not face a shot. Junior Marco Gasper (Naugatuck, Conn./Naugatuck) went the rest of the way and stopped two shots.

Assumption used two goalkeepers as Brett Miller made two saves, and Patrick Seaman stopped one shot.

Post enjoyed a 15-12 edge in shots, but Assumption held a 5-1 margin in corner kicks. Assumption was whistled for 18 fouls, while the Eagles were called for 11.

With his goal and assist, Johnson continues to lead the team in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points. Martins is second on the team with four goals and two assist for 10 points, and Sabastian is third with three goals and two assists for eight points.

The Eagles will close out the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to Wilmington College.
