RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Nyack College men's soccer team scored two goals in the final three minutes, seven seconds, of regulation, including a penalty kick with 0:12 on the clock, to earn a 2-2 draw with host Felician College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action Tuesday afternoon throughout a steady rain at Tryon Field.
Nyack's Brenden Barnhouse (Fort Myers, FL) headed in an indirect kick from Shawn Mowery (Valrico, FL) to put his team on the scoreboard at 86:53. In the closing seconds, a Felician player was called for a hooking foul inside the penalty area, and Tim Conway (Billerica, MA) converted the ensuing kick.
Both teams had strong scoring opportunities thwarted in the overtime periods. In the first minute of extra play, a ball was crossed to the far post by a Nyack player, but Mowery's shot was stopped by Golden Falcon defender Michael Furino (Lyndhurst, NJ). Felician's Armin Tandir (Bosnia) got free in the box in the 106th minute and dribbled on goal, but was stymied by Warrior goalkeeper Jack Carillo (Cornwall, NY).
Eric Moore (Dublin, Ireland) and Tandir gave Felician (3-10-3, 2-3-2) a 2-0 lead in the match's first 11 minutes. Keeper Paulo DosSantos (Toronto, Canada) had three saves. Carillo made four saves for Nyack (4-12-1, 1-6-1).
