FeaturesRAIN POSTPONES CACC TOURNAMENT BASEBALL GAMESMay 9, 2008WILMINGTON, DE - Friday's action at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Tournament has been postponed due to heavy rain in the Wilmington area. The games have been moved to Saturday, with the first game between Philadelphia and Caldwell moving up to a 10:00 am start at Frawley Stadium. The second game will start at 3:00 pm at Wilmington's Wilson Stadium. [more] NYACK'S LEVINS NAMED CACC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR; ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS RELEASEDMay 8, 2008NEW HAVEN, CT-Cody Levins of Nyack College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Year in balloting released today. Caldwell Colleges Robert Casal was selected Pitcher of the Year, while Hector Bello of Felician College was the choice for Rookie of the Year. Coach of the Year accolades went to Mark Heineman of Philadelphia University, and Philadelphia also received the annual Team Sportsmanship Award. The leagues 10 coaches conducted the voting. [more] WALK-OFF HOME RUN AND A SHUTOUT HIGHLIGHT OPENING DAY OF CACC BASEBALL TOURNAMENTMay 8, 2008WILMINGTON, DE-Caldwell College sophomore outfielder Adric Saxon crushed a two-out, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat Dominican College as the 2008 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Tournament got underway today in Wilmington, DE. The No. 2 Cougars won the game, 6-5, while top seeded Philadelphia University won its game against No. 4 Felician College, 7-1. Felician was eliminated from the tournament later in the day with a loss to Dominican. Philadelphia and Caldwell will play at noon on Friday for the right to play in the championship round of the tournament. [more] News |
